Ramazan in Pakistan is likely to begin on February 19, while Eidul Fitr may be observed on March 21, according to astronomical projections shared by the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council on Monday.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the media, Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti said the crescent marking the start of Ramazan is expected to be sighted on February 18. \u201cBased on the birth of the moon and visibility parameters, the first of Ramazan is likely to fall on February 19,\u201d he said, adding that the estimates are derived from astronomical calculations.<\/p>\n
Mufti emphasised that the forecast should not be treated as final, noting that the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee alone holds the authority to announce the beginning of Islamic months after moon sighting testimony.<\/p>\n
Commenting on Eidul Fitr, he said the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible on March 20, which would place Eidul Fitr on March 21. \u201cIf weather conditions remain favourable, the chances of moon sighting will be stronger,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He also shared projections regarding Eidul Azha, stating that the first of Zilhajjah is likely to fall on May 17. \u201cAccordingly, Eidul Azha may be observed on May 27,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mufti reiterated that all dates are tentative and purely based on scientific estimates. \u201cThe final and decisive announcement regarding Ramazan and Eid will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee,\u201d he maintained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
